we have been hearing it more and more lately: “Emerson is everywhere!” It’s a phrase that fills me with pride because it isn’t just a slogan—it’s a reality. Whether at a film festival in Utah or a creative convergence in Austin, our community’s impact is unmistakable.

To meet you where you are, we are leaning into a regional strategy that engages our network of Emersonians. Our “Emerson in” event series brings the spirit of Boylston Street to your backyard through social gatherings in hubs like LA, New York, Miami, and Washington, DC, and now to international centers such as London and Mexico City. Simultaneously, our “Emerson@” series ensures that when the industry gathers—be it at Sundance, ASHA, AWP, or SXSW—Emerson is there as a leader and a connector.

Of course, the most powerful way to stay connected is through mentorship, bridging the gap between the classroom and the industry. I invite you to join Emerge, if you aren’t already a member—our vibrant, Emerson-only online community for networking. It’s the premier space to be a mentor, share job opportunities, and celebrate our collective success. In Southern California, we continue to seek alumni for the Emerson Los Angeles Career Advisory Network (ELA CAN) and we’re piloting a new regional mentorship program in DC. Your guidance is the bridge that helps the next generation of Emersonians.

Speaking of Los Angeles, save the date for Evening on Sunset on September 10, 2026, celebrating the 40th anniversary of the Emerson Los Angeles Program. And be sure to register and join us for Alumni Weekend in Boston, October 23–25 (see pp. 42–43).
